Join Columbus favorites Super Desserts, Couch Forts and Karate Coyote for an evening devoted to great music in support of Paste Magazine, an independently owned and minded national music magazine. Just $5 gets you the delightfully haunting folk sounds of 7-10 piece Super Desserts, the folk-rock-stomp goodness of Couch Forts and what is always a rousing good time with the energy-packed pop-rock Karate Coyote.
Paste launched a campaign in May to help raise money to save their six-year-old magazine, a measure taken due to the economy taking its toll on Paste's ad sales. So far the campaign has raised more than $200,000 through individual donations and the efforts of benefit shows just like this one going on throughout the country. More than 75 musicians and bands (The Decemberists, The Avett Brothers, Of Montreal, She & Him) have come together to donate songs for Save Paste donors to receive for free just for donating the minimum, $20.
These local efforts are all to help save a part of independent music culture, as Paste also supports Ohio peeps- writer Andy Whitman and local bands Southeast Engine and The Receiver, to name just a few Ohio people touched by the magazine.
Stop by the Wild Goose Creative space to hear some good music, meet with Paste writer/blogger Andy Whitman, and to have a generally good time for all ages. All proceeds benefit the Save Paste Campaign. As Paste says, even a small contribution can make a big difference.
Hope to see you there!
