Call for Artists: VendART

Some of you may have noticed a blast-from-the-past in the Goose space in the way of a 1968 Cigarette Vending Machine. We have turned this amazing piece of machinery into an art vending machine, the VendART!

Interested? Here are the specs:

1. The finished artwork must fit inside a box that measures 2 1/8 inches by 3 ¼ inches by 7/8 inch. We have cardstock boxes for you to use, and we encourage you to get them from us ahead of time and decorate the outside however you like! Advertise your own website, make them a piece of art in their own right, etc.

2. Please submit 10 pieces.

3. Please include a small placard (2 inches square) that includes your name and/or name of the art! We’ll put this placard by the lever that people will pull to buy your art!

4. Each piece of artwork will sell for $3. When we receive your artwork, we will give you $2 per piece upfront and will keep one dollar each upon the sale of the work in order to recoup some of our costs (eventually we may be able to raise the price of artwork, but we are working with not the most cutting edge vending technology here).

If you would like to participate, please send an email to beth@wildgoosecreative.com. Include in the email:

- What you plan to submit. Provide a detailed description or, even better, an image. Send us this as soon as you're able so we can start to make plans.

- When you will get the artwork to us. For this first round of artwork, we would like to have the work in-hand by September 15. One of us will be at Wild Goose Creative throughout the month of August on Mondays through Thursdays between 2 and 5 pm. Let us know if you'd like to set up a different drop-off time.

Thanks so much and happy VendARTmaking!

Sketch Crawl Columbus

Wild Goose Creative joins forces with local Art and design organizations CSCA and Element to bring you Columbus' first unofficial SketchCrawl.

What is a sketchCrawl you might ask? Think all-day pub-crawl with less booze and regret the next morning and add drawing and food. Sketchcrawl is a self-guided tour of Columbus down-town landmarks where you get to meet other local artists with the same passion for drawing.

Grab a backpack, add your favorite art supplies and make new friends as we walk/bicycle downtown and draw the city. Locations will include North Market, The Statehouse, The Santa Maria and Goodale Park.

Free event, fun for all ages, come for 20 minutes or the whole day.

For more a map and schedule, click here.

Foster Squared: Father & Son Rock n Folk!

Join us for a special concert, one night only!

August 15, 2009 • 8pm

Tickets at the Door • Pay What you Want • KIDS any age FREE

FREE FOOD and BYOB or enjoy FREE BEER on us! Sponsored by PBR!

Morgan Foster, and father, Joe Foster, join us to share a night of new songs, old standards, and great stories.

Lead singer of the popular Chicago based band Common Shiner, Morgan Foster is no stranger to the spot light having played in some of the Windy City’s most celebrated venues. Foster’s songwriting, which has been described as “heartfelt…epic but humble, and full of stories that draw you in and make you listen up.” with lyrics that have a “pop sensibility, that people can really latch on tom,” is beautiful and sure to be a highlight.

Dad, Joe, is no slouch either, originally hailing from the east coast and now a folk charmer throughout southwest Michigan, Joe plays some of the best old timey folk tunes you’ve ever heard. Joe is also a fantastic storyteller weaving in a fascinating and hilarious anecdotes between each song.

In this rare joint show both will bring their own unique style and presence to the stage as they offer up an evening unforgettable stories and tunes.
